TRAINING WORKSHOPS
Sharing best practices, new technologies, and lessons learned
As a growing number of African countries become engaged in scaling up malaria control programs, facilitating shared learning becomes increasingly important. Establishing and making widely available uniform standards and tools for countries to be able to develop, implement, evaluate, and disseminate results for national malaria control programs is crucial.
The Learning Community is playing a key role in convening multicountry training workshops to strengthen the capacity of African countries to be skillful and effective leaders in the fight to control malaria. During the workshops, which are often held in collaboration with the Roll Back Malaria Partnership (RBM) and other partners, participating countries with a range of experiences share best practices and lessons learned. Trainings to date have focused on malaria control program components such as planning and conducting malaria indicator surveys (MISs), developing proposals, and using geographic information systems for indoor residual spraying programs. Participants in these workshops learn from the experience of their peers in other countries and receive training from world-class experts on state-of-the-art methods and tools. For the schedule of upcoming trainings, please see the schedule below.
