AREAS OF WORK: ADVOCATING
Building the case based on evidence and experience
Advocacy in support of program improvement is critical to successful long-term scale-up efforts. Advocating for national commitment to malaria control efforts based on current successes, lessons, and evidence helps ensure that effective scale-up efforts will be adopted and sustained. At the global level, advocacy and communication are critical to securing long-term commitment to malaria control.
MACEPA’s contributions
MACEPA works with national programs and their partners to build advocacy and communications capacity, assess needs, and strategically focus activities to reinforce malaria control interventions at the local, sub-national, and national levels. MACEPA supports advocacy to ensure ongoing support at all levels for malaria control programs’ ambitious, impact-focused efforts.
Learning Community countries will be supported by MACEPA in sharing advocacy strategies and documenting their compelling stories of the process, achievements, and challenges along the way. No single country can establish the global case for this approach; by harnessing the collective experiences, lessons, and successes in a range of settings, the powerful case for rapid scale-up will emerge.
MACEPA works with the RBM Malaria Advocacy Working Group at the global level to ensure that stories of successful scale-up reach key stakeholders and to showcase its partner governments and the Learning Community as examples on the global stage.
